Please tell us what kind of company Advanced Media is.
I feel that this is a company where I can constantly absorb new technology and knowledge while making use of my own area of expertise.
I am working on research and development using natural language processing, and I have many opportunities to work with the latest technologies while advancing my research, especially building our own unique GPT model.
We also have a culture that encourages cooperation among employees. In research, we read and write papers, and in development, we introduce technology into products, allowing us to cooperate and deepen our relationships both within and outside of our departments.
Please tell us about your current job and what is rewarding about it.
I am in charge of research and development using natural language processing technology. In particular, I am focusing on building our own GPT model and developing highly accurate text processing technology using call and meeting minutes data. Through this initiative, we are laying the foundation for our in-house natural language processing tasks and improving efficiency.
I feel rewarded when I see the technology I developed being put to practical use. For example, I was very happy when a summary model I helped develop was demonstrated in front of customers at an exhibition.
Please tell us what you value in your work.
There are three things that are important to me in my work.
First of all, I actively interact with various people and share knowledge through presentations of my research both inside and outside the company.
Next, we will use our internal data. Advanced Media has a lot of text resources that are relevant to business practices, and we believe that by making the most of these resources, we can provide technology that is actually useful.
Finally, we have a user perspective. We strive to develop products with real-world applications in mind, including the execution environment and processing speed.
What are your future goals (dreams)?
Our goal is to contribute to society by making our technology available to a wide range of people.
To achieve this, many challenges remain.
For example, depending on the domain of the documents being handled, technical development may require business knowledge and practical data in addition to specialized knowledge.
Also, depending on the operating environment, there may be limitations on the technologies that can be used due to processing speed and data confidentiality.
To address these challenges, we are building a foundation that can meet a wide range of needs by working with people with business knowledge, making effective use of practical data, and investigating the trade-offs between performance and processing speed.

Research and development trends survey
I research products and papers related to the natural language processing topics I am working on. I try to catch up quickly and accurately by trying out as many things as I can at hand.
Meeting with PoC (proof of concept) companies
We are advancing technology development through PoC. Through meetings, we clarify issues and evaluation indicators for solving practical problems, report progress, and make policy decisions.
Progress report preparation
I create materials to report progress and results to both inside and outside the company. I carefully examine the necessary information depending on who I am reporting to, and strive to create easy-to-understand materials.

When I go to work, I often go to a restaurant in the Sunshine 60 building. When I work remotely, I often go for a walk to a nearby restaurant or convenience store.
Internal meeting
Club members gather in remote conference format to briefly explain what they are working on. They often also have light conversations, which provides an opportunity for club members to socialize even while working remotely.
Data preparation for technology development
Based on the requirements and research results, we define the data we need. Building a dataset requires manpower, which may be done by an in-house team or outsourced. Since many people are involved, it is important to clearly define the data we need.
Development of natural language service libraries linked to advanced media products
I often do coding and training of machine learning models using the data I have constructed. If a technology that seems usable emerges in the trend research, I try to proactively incorporate it after determining whether it is useful for the purpose.

Organize the progress of the day and what you will be working on in the future. Decide specifically what you will do next so that you can work as smoothly as possible the next day.
