
Promoting DX and reducing the burden on the field staff
Kyushu Electric Power High-Tech is contracted by general power transmission and distribution companies to perform tasks such as inspections of substations, transmission towers, and other equipment, on-site operation, equipment repair, and accident/fault recovery. They consistently carry out all aspects of maintenance work, from planning to execution.
Amidst the growing demand for digital transformation in our operations, we introduced "AmiVoice Keyboard" with the aim of streamlining the recording of results from drone-based transmission tower inspections.
The double effort of recording by hand and then transcribing is a burden.
Traditionally, inspection results were recorded manually on paper at the site, requiring a temporary interruption of the inspection work for recording, resulting in lost work time. Furthermore, inspection records had to be re-entered into the system upon returning to the office, highlighting the need for improvement both in the field and at the desk.
Offline support and recognition of technical terms
Many of the transmission towers are built in mountainous areas, which are often areas with poor mobile network coverage. Therefore, the ability to use the system offline and its voice recognition capabilities, which can handle specialized terminology related to transmission tower components, were the deciding factors in its adoption.

By digitizing inspection records through voice input, we were able to reduce work time by 15 minutes per unit.

Ensuring recognition accuracy even in noisy environments
Even in noisy environments such as industrial zones, we can handle tower inspections by adjusting the voice recognition sensitivity and speech detection level.
How it's actually being used
We are using voice input to enter the results obtained from our transmission tower inspections into Excel. Going forward, we intend to actively utilize voice input for tasks where it can improve efficiency.
