Advanced Media Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and President: Kiyoyuki Suzuki; hereinafter referred to as "Advanced Media")'s transcription support application "AmiVoice ScribeAssist" that utilizes the AI ​​voice recognition AmiVoice is now available. It will be introduced in the customer service of the online showroom of LIXIL Corporation (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as LIXIL) from December.

It is estimated that there are approximately 34 people in Japan with hearing impairments.※ 1. Furthermore, in May 2021, the “Amended Act to Eliminate Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities”※ 2'' was passed at a plenary session of the House of Councilors, and private business operators are now required to provide reasonable accommodation, which was previously only required of the national and local governments. This will make it mandatory for the national and local governments to provide accommodations to people with disabilities who use products and services.

With the introduction of "AmiVoice ScribeAssist," we are now able to provide a new service that displays what the showroom coordinator says in text at the bottom of the Zoom screen. It can also be used to assist people with hearing impairments, such as people with hearing impairments and age-related hearing loss, as well as foreigners who are not native Japanese speakers, to help them understand Japanese, enabling comfortable online customer service. .

Based on our purpose of "realizing the rich and comfortable homes that everyone around the world desires," LIXIL has set "respect for diversity" as one of our corporate responsibility missions. We are working to provide products and services based on universal design (UD) that contribute to improving the quality of life for all people, regardless of whether they have a disability or not. Advanced Media will continue to provide services that utilize AI voice recognition AmiVoice, aiming to realize barrier-free communication for people with hearing impairments and hearing loss.

The LIXIL Online Showroom has two options: ``Reservation and Online Consultation,'' which requires a reservation, and ``Now Consultation,'' which does not require an appointment. Once you select the product you would like to purchase and the date and time you would like, LIXIL will send you an email confirming the details of your inquiry and providing you with the connection method and URL. You can use it as many times as you like for free.

The LIXIL Online Showroom was quickly rolled out nationwide as a solution to the coronavirus pandemic, and the number of users has continued to grow rapidly since its launch, with a cumulative total of more than 120,000 customers using it (as of the end of October 2022).

Additionally, through customer surveys and other means, we have confirmed that the fact that there are no time or geographical restrictions for online consultations is recognized by users as an advantage. For example, even for the same 60-minute customer service, online customer service has been found to be more satisfying (93% satisfaction) than face-to-face customer service in the facility. We are proposing a hybrid service that combines the advantages of online services.
