Equipped with convenient functions that can be used immediately in business
Advanced Media Corporation (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kiyoyuki Suzuki; hereinafter "Advanced Media") has announced that it will begin selling the "FOMA FOMA Plus" business FOMA handset from NTT DoCoMo, Inc. (hereinafter "NTT DoCoMo").® For the "M1000" (hereinafter referred to as "M1000"), we have developed a business integration tool "AmiVoice® Mobile Tools – Biz Pack for M1000" will be available for sale in ASP format to corporate users from August 8st.
"AmiVoice® Mobile Tools – Biz Pack for M1000" was developed as a business integration tool for mobile phones that allows users to input and operate text and other items by voice, and provides a new input interface for mobile phones that utilizes our voice recognition technology. This significantly reduces the need for cumbersome thumb and pen input on mobile phones, making it convenient to use on the go.
Furthermore, because this tool is in ASP format, it can be used immediately after signing the contract. This eliminates the need for the installation and development of business applications that was previously required for corporate users to use business tools on their mobile phones, and significantly reduces installation costs. In addition, this tool does not store data such as customer information on the mobile phone device, but instead stores all data on the server, reducing the risk of information leaks for companies and achieving high security.

It is equipped with ① memos that allow you to easily create business reports, ② a network-based phone book, ③ business email, ④ schedule registration, and ⑤ train route search functions. The train route search is provided in cooperation with JORDAN Co., Ltd. (hereinafter JORDAN), which operates the "Transfer Guide" service. This allows corporate users to easily search for information by voice anywhere in Japan.
"AmiVoice® Mobile Tools – Biz Pack for M1000" utilizes our Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR) technology. We are positioning this tool as the first business package utilizing DSR technology, and will develop and provide it for mobile devices other than NTT DoCoMo's M1000 in the future. In addition, we will develop this tool for specialized business applications and develop "business efficiency systems utilizing mobile devices" that meet the needs of users in new fields.

"What is Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR)?"
This is the world's first speech recognition technology implemented in mobile phones by Advanced Media on October 2004, 10. It is difficult to perform advanced speech recognition on terminal devices such as mobile phones, which do not have the processing power of a PC. Generally, the voice is sent from the terminal device to a server during a call, and all speech recognition processing is done on the server. However, with this method, the accuracy of speech recognition decreases due to data compression and data loss when sending the voice to the server.
This led to the idea of distributed speech recognition (DSR), in which terminal devices are equipped with speech recognition pre-processing functions and the server shares this function. Within the terminal device, speech is converted into "feature data" necessary for speech recognition processing, and then sent to the server, which then carries out the remaining processing of speech recognition. The "feature data" sent from the terminal device is small, less than 1/30 of the amount of speech data, so even on current mobile phone networks, packets can be sent to the server without missing packets and at a speed that does not cause stress to the user, allowing speech recognition to be performed.
Our DSR technology provides highly accurate speech recognition functionality that can handle continuous speech on terminal devices with communication functions, such as mobile phones.

Advanced Media has developed its own voice recognition technology.
AmiVoice®We have been providing various solutions that allow users to input text using their voice.
AmiVoice®The engine is speaker-independent, so users can immediately input voice without prior voice training (enrollment). In the medical field in particular, the system has been introduced in over 1,600 facilities (as of June 2006), and is contributing to the efficiency of medical diagnosis.
