The first app is "One Phrase English Conversation," which allows you to check your pronunciation
Advanced Media Corporation (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kiyoyuki Suzuki; hereinafter, "Advanced Media") has announced that it has developed its own voice recognition technology,AmiVoice®Starting today, we will be launching "Shaberun," a portal site for mobile devices that brings together a variety of applications using AmiVoice - Powered by AmiVoice - as an official WILLCOM W-ZERO3 content.
This time, the portal site "Shaberun" will be offering "One Phrase English Conversation" as its first app.
Download the phrase you want to practice from example conversations (updated weekly) divided into categories such as "travel," "business," and "lifestyle," (approximately 30 phrases can be saved), follow the guidance to speak the phrase, and your pronunciation will be evaluated on a three-level scale, making it a fun, casual way to take pronunciation lessons anywhere.
You can also check out the native pronunciation*1) of our renowned teaching staff, including Thane Camus and Janica Southwick, and there are also plenty of quick explanations of each phrase.

The "Shoberun" service is a concrete example of our goal to provide a service where anyone, anywhere, anytime can benefit from natural communication with computers. This is the second service after the Voice Domain service that has already been launched. Our distributed speech recognition (DSR) technology*2) is beginning to be installed in mobile devices, including mobile phones, and an environment is beginning to be created where advanced and highly accurate speech recognition, which was previously difficult to use, can be used on these devices. In the future, we expect to see more and more such services being created. Of course, the content of the "Shoberun" service will also be gradually improved. We will accelerate this trend and open up a new market for mobile services that make natural communication the norm.

*2) "What is Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR)?"
This is a distributed speech recognition (DSR) system in which the terminal device is equipped with a pre-processing function for speech recognition and shares the processing with the server. Within the terminal device, the voice is converted into "feature data" required for speech recognition processing, and then sent to the server, which performs the remaining processing of the speech recognition. The "feature data" sent from the terminal device is small, less than 1/30 of the voice data, and even on current mobile phone networks, there are no packet drops and it is sent to the server at a speed that does not cause stress to the user, so even though the terminal device is a small, low-performance device, it can enjoy the benefits of advanced and highly accurate speech recognition on a par with that of a PC.
