Digital learning materials that fully comply with textbooks
Kairyudo Publishing Co., Ltd. (Head office: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takaharu Okuma; hereinafter "Kairyudo") will release "Digital Textbook Guide Click-On," an English learning software for junior high school students that is based on the junior high school English textbook "Sunshine," from April 2012. The retail price is 3,990 yen (3,800 yen excluding tax).
This software uses the voice recognition technology of Advanced Media Corporation (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Kiyoyuki Suzuki, hereinafter referred to as "Advanced Media").AmiVoice®By adopting this technology, it is now possible to specifically extract pronunciation mistakes that are unique to Japanese people from the sentences spoken by the learner and point them out and provide guidance, something that was not possible with previous digital textbooks. This makes it possible to cheaply and easily practice individual pronunciation and reading aloud at home, which was difficult in group learning settings such as junior high school.
The "New Growth Strategy" approved by the Cabinet in June 2010 sets out a policy to provide one information terminal for each student by fiscal year 6. Furthermore, the Junior High School Curriculum Guidelines (revised in March 2020) state that junior high school English classes should focus on communication skills, with a balanced acquisition of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
This software allows students to listen to the contents of the textbook in audio format and practice pronunciation and reading aloud, making it easy to prepare and review the contents of the textbook at home before attending class. In addition, students can repeatedly listen to the audio for weak points, which is expected to improve their listening skills.
●Features of the "Digital Textbook Guide Click-On" are as follows.
*Improve pronunciation
The voice recognition function recognizes the English spoken by the learner, specifically points out pronunciation mistakes that are typical of Japanese people, and displays pronunciation advice. Learners can also gradually improve their voice recognition rating by repeatedly practicing, which helps them maintain their motivation to study.
*Improve listening skills
It is possible to listen to the entire textbook, including words, phrases, and all audio. You can also select and listen to only the parts you want to hear, so you can concentrate on listening to the parts that you have difficulty hearing, which will help improve your listening skills.
*Improve understanding of textbooks
You can check the meaning and translation of the textbook text, words and phrases, and sample answers to the textbook exercises are displayed, so you can prepare and review at home. In addition, you can check the audio script (script) of the listening portion in text, so the audio and text are linked, improving your understanding of the textbook content.
