Iizuka Hospital (Location: Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Director: Jiro Tanaka; hereinafter "Iizuka Hospital") has announced that Advanced Media Corporation (Head Office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Chairman and President: Kiyoyuki Suzuki; hereinafter "Advanced Media") has released a voice input system for rehabilitation department in spring 2012 that allows users to easily create electronic medical records and documents by simply speaking into a computer without using a keyboard.AmiVoice®Ex7 Rehabilitation" will be fully operational from early September 2012.
Voice Recognition TechnologyAmiVoice®This system utilizes AI to create documents simply by speaking the content you want to enter, reducing the amount of data entry work required in rehabilitation medical settings.
In recent years, the importance of rehabilitation has been increasing due to an increase in the number of people with disabilities due to traffic accidents and an aging society. While demand is growing, the shortage of specialists is becoming more serious, and there is still a shortage of physical therapists and occupational therapists. Iizuka Hospital aims to provide rehabilitation 365 days a year, and operates with a total of 1 staff members, including one rehabilitation specialist, 59 physical therapists, 18 occupational therapists, 8 speech-language-hearing pathologists, and 6 clinical assistants and clerks. However, improving the work environment has become an issue, with many staff members staying up late every day inputting progress notes after completing rehabilitation training. As part of efforts to improve the work environment at the hospital, the hospital is introducing a voice input system for rehabilitation sites called "AmiVoice®Ex7 Rehabilitation" has been introduced.
"AmiVoice®Ex7The " series reduces input work by about half (according to Advanced Media) compared to keyboard input, improving the input work environment in busy rehabilitation facilities.AmiVoice®Ex7 Rehabilitation" also comes standard with technical terms commonly used in rehabilitation settings, such as "Asymmetric Tonic Neck Reflex (ATNR)," "Sacral Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)," and "Transverse Retentive Ligament."
Hiromi Kuroki, head of the rehabilitation department at Iizuka Hospital, said, "At our hospital, we aim to provide rehabilitation 365 days a year to help patients during their acute hospitalization, and we have a total of 92 staff members in place. At the same time, we must also improve the work of each staff member. In the midst of this, we learned about the effect that voice input could have in improving data entry work, and we evaluated it. As a result, we decided that it would be a tool that would fully play a part in improving our work, and so we introduced it. Our staff are excited about the system as we approach full-scale operation in early September."
Advanced Media said,AmiVoice®Ex7 Rehabilitation" will be launched to rehabilitation facilities nationwide, with the goal of introducing it to more than 3 facilities over the next three years.AmiVoice®We will also build dictionaries for other medical departments using this system, aiming to further popularize voice input in a wide range of medical settings.
