Adopted for Navitime's car navigation app "Car Navitime for Smartphone"!
Advanced Media Corporation (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Suzuki Kiyoyuki; hereinafter "Advanced Media") will begin offering a voice recognition engine for automobiles in May 2013 that is optimized for the ambient sounds inside a car. By tuning the acoustics in a car with its surrounding noises, air conditioning, music, etc., we have achieved a higher level of voice recognition accuracy than ever before. This engine can be used through the cloud service provided by Advanced Media, so you can keep initial investment costs down and utilize the voice recognition function at a low cost.
This engine has been adopted by Navitime Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Keisuke Onishi; hereinafter referred to as "Navitime") for its car navigation app "Car Navitime for Smartphone."
The service, which will be available from Tuesday, May 2013, 5, will enable users to perform navigation operations such as route search, navigation operation, map operation, and store/address data search simply by speaking to the navigation system.
"Car Navi Time for Smartphone" recognizes spot names such as "Sky Tree" and "Ise Shrine", place names such as "Seibu Chichibu" and "Utsunomiya", store names, and station names, and allows searches using natural speech such as "I want to go to Tokyo Sky Tree" and "Find a nearby convenience store." Furthermore, navigation operations such as "End navigation" and "Delete route" can also be performed by voice.
With this adoption, Advanced Media will continue to actively promote the provision of voice recognition technology for car navigation systems and other applications.
