As a result, we have achieved an error improvement rate of up to 20% (according to our research), and the recognition rate of natural speech has greatly improved.

LSTM is a type of recurrent neural network technology that has the characteristic of being able to utilize information that was previously only available in a short period of time over a long period of time. By implementing this into the speech recognition engine, it has become possible to improve the recognition rate.

We have now implemented LSTM technology in the acoustic model and speech interval detection of the speech recognition engine AmiVoice. By taking into account past information during processing, the recognition rate of natural speech, especially spoken words, was greatly improved, and the error improvement rate was up to 20% compared to conventional DNN technology. In addition, by introducing a method to reduce the frame rate (unit of recognition processing) while suppressing the impact on accuracy, we have solved the processing speed issue that was an issue with conventional LSTM technology and achieved high recognition speed. We achieved improved accuracy while maintaining the same accuracy. LSTM technology is also implemented for speech segment detection, improving the accuracy of speech segment judgment and noise resistance.

We plan to start introducing it in minutes and call centers, where natural speech is the main focus, and then gradually implement it in each service.
