Verification of text visibility and readability using UD fonts, transparent displays, and voice recognition
Advanced Media Co., Ltd. (Head office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Chairman and CEO: Kiyoyuki Suzuki, hereinafter referred to as "Advanced Media") provides minutes solutions on its unified platform "VoXT One," which has the No. 1 market share in Japan.*ScribeAssist, a transcription assistance application equipped with AmiVoice, an AI voice recognition system from Yahoo! JAPAN, will be exhibited in the Morisawa Inc. (Headquarters: Naniwa-ku, Osaka City, President and CEO: Akihiko Morisawa, hereinafter referred to as "Morisawa") booth at EdgeTech+ 2025, which will be held at Pacifico Yokohama from Wednesday, November 19th to Friday, November 21st, 2025.

This exhibition will be held under the concept of realizing customer-centric value creation by adding new benefits to edge technology, as we enter a period of business transformation.
As part of an industry-academia collaboration, Morisawa is currently testing the visibility of fonts against transparent backgrounds. At the Morisawa booth at EdgeTech+ 2025, we will be conducting a verification experiment to test the visibility and readability of UD (Universal Design) fonts displayed on a transparent display. Visitors will be able to experience the legibility of the characters in real time, allowing them to discover new possibilities for presenting information.
This time, Japan Display's "Rælclear" was used as the transparent display, and Advanced Media's "ScribeAssist" was used for real-time automatic transcription using AI voice recognition.
"ScribeAssist" is a standalone transcription assistance application that can be used offline. It can perform all processes from transcription using AI speech recognition AmiVoice to summary generation in a secure environment without the risk of information leaks. High-precision transcription, which is also strong against natural spoken language, enables the generation of high-quality summaries. It offers a standalone summarization function that can be used offline, as well as a summarization function that utilizes cloud-based generation AI, allowing you to choose the summarization method that best suits your company's security policy and business needs.
"ScribeAssist was chosen for this verification experiment because it can be used in a secure environment and provides reliable transcription, which is necessary for accurately evaluating the legibility of text on a transparent interface. Another reason for its adoption was its ability to perform speech recognition offline, allowing for stable operation regardless of internet connection conditions.
Advanced Media aims to realize a barrier-free society where communication is possible, enabling everyone to access information comfortably and intuitively through speech recognition technology and deepen mutual understanding. Come to the exhibition and experience real-time transcription with "ScribeAssist" and the high visibility and readability of Morisawa's UD fonts on a transparent display.

Morisawa'sUDAbout fonts
Morisawa's UD fonts were developed based on the concepts of "easy-to-understand character shapes," "easy-to-read sentences," and "hard to misread." Specifically, voiced and semi-voiced consonants are made larger to make them easier to distinguish, and other measures are taken, such as clearly separating characters to make it easier to distinguish between characters with similar silhouettes. A comparative study on visibility and readability has also been conducted in collaboration with a third-party organization.
UD fonts are used in a variety of fields, including offices, transportation, medical care, and factory automation equipment.
