Advanced Media’s business

Advanced Media exists to generate business value and increase corporate value by creating new markets. Speech is the easiest and most universal means of conveying information known to humankind, which makes it obvious why speech recognition technology is so valuable. It enables us to “visualize natural speech”, or in other words, to convert natural speech to text format that can be read. Advanced Media’s technology in speech recognition allows us to propose new ways to create and deliver value to customers. Our practical AmiVoice speech recognition solution, which is easily adaptable for both business and consumer applications, enables us to provide a diverse range of users with truly usable, convenient and valuable systems.
Advanced Media has built a strong track record by developing speech recognition systems for enterprise users in specific fields, who have acclaimed our solutions as usable, valuable, and even indispensable. We created these successes by targeting fields in which the ability to convert the spoken word into text was particularly beneficial, or in other words, the fields most conducive to eliciting new value. These fields include support for the preparation of radiological image diagnostic reports in the medical industry, and for the preparation of conference and assembly proceedings in the government/public sector. Next, we began to focus on areas in which we believed it would be comparatively easy to elicit value, those which in their very essence require speech. These include the teaching of conversational English, Japanese language training, customer relations training, and training in interaction on the telephone. We are now in the first stage of our strategy for creating markets in these areas.
Our goal for the future is to achieve the widest possible acceptance and utilization of speech recognition. Toward this end, we have categorized our market into four segments: corporate users in specific fields with specialized vocabularies such as the medical industry and the government/public sector field (specific fields); general consumers in specific domains; enterprise users in domains that do not have specialized vocabularies (general fields); and general consumers in general fields. We will continue to address and overcome challenges in technology and time to market in each segment until we reach our goal.
