December: Advanced Media, Inc. established as speech recognition venture at 1-32-6 Kakigara-cho, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
1999
March: Formed the Interactive Voice System Research Group (IVSRG) to support the evaluation and improvement of AmiVoice, and released the AmiVoice SDK software development support tool (version 1.0)
2000
July: Released version 3.0 of the AmiVoice SDK, launched actual Solution Support Business. Headquarters moved to 3-1-1 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo.
November: AmiVoice Web site for speech recognition applications comes on line; License Business for enterprise users commenced.
2002
March: AmiVoice for game machines (XBOX, PS2) released simultaneously with announcement of AmiVoice/Distributed Speech Recognition (DSR), which is primarily for communications use. Also released AmiVoice Medical for Radiology, a pioneering speech input package for radiological image diagnostic reports.
October: Released AmiVoiceDSR for Dictation/PDA, which uses AmiVoice DSR to allow dictation using a PDA.
November: Released AmiVoice ID (now called AmiVoice Mobile Verification), a client-server speech verification application.
2003
April: Released AmiVoice Medical Scribe, a user-friendly medical text output application with high-speed processing. Initiated sales partner system in the medical area.
May: Released AmiVoice SDK version 5.0, which supports the development of speech recognition applications for the versatile PC platform.
August: Released AmiVoice Rewriter, a conference proceedings creation support application; AmiVoice CallScriber, an application for converting recorded call-center conversations to text; and AmiVoice Reporter, an operating report creation support system; launched high-value-added License Business.
2004
March: Released AmiVoice Ex (Hospital/Clinic), an electronic medical record application.
May: Local government assemblies and their committees commenced using AmiVoice Rewriter.
June: Commenced sales of Japanese-language study applications with audible pronunciation guides and interactive English conversation practice applications.
October: AmiVoice DSR front end converted to ASIC chip, mounted in mobile telephones.
2005
January: Released AmiVoice Ex Pharmacy, a speech recognition application for dispensing pharmacies to support the preparation of instructions on dosage and administration.
February: Commenced sales of AmiVoice CALL–pronunciation, an application that assists Japanese students to correct their English pronunciation
March: Actroid, a reception and information robot, introduced at Expo 2005 in Aichi, Japan. Operating in four languages, Actroid incorporates Advanced Media’s conversation technology.
June: Listed on Mothers market at the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly and other local government assemblies began using conference proceedings creation system.
July: Established subsidiary Voice Domain Service, Inc. to offer voice-operated Internet search services using mobile telephones.
October: Significantly reduced the price of AmiVoice® Ex Clinic, the industry’s most accurate speech input software for electronic medical records, with the object of increasing the number of sites using it
Converted MC2, Ltd. into a consolidated subsidiary for the purpose of expanding Advanced Media’s business base
2006
March: Commenced sales of AmiVoice Ex BizMail, an application for business text mail input.
April: Started offering the Open Sesame System, which uses speaker verification to automatically unlock doors.
August: Established Voice Capital Solutions Co., Ltd., an enterprise investment and consulting subsidiary to promote growth of businesses using AmiVoice.
Commenced sales of voice-input business software for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA® business series “FOMA® M1000”, as an ASP service.
September: Commenced sales of AmiVoice SceneDirector, which uses voice commands to provide integrated control of devices in meeting rooms.
October: Advanced Media President Kiyoyuki Suzuki is named Japan’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the international annual award scheme that recognizes the achievements of outstanding business leaders.
2007
May: Released AmiVoice Guard speaker verification system.
August: FOMA® Raku-Raku PHONE IV manufactured by Fujitsu starts using AmiVoice DSR clients.
November: Commenced sales of AmiVoice Es 2008, AMI’s first voice recognition application for the general consumer.
Started offering a voice recognition server for NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA® 905i series.
Along with this, AMI launched its mobile content site, “KoeCheki.”
2008
April: Sold the consolidated subsidiary MC2, Ltd.
Started providing Voice Input Mail services for NTT DoCoMo’s Raku-Raku PHONE Premium by Fujitsu equipped with the AmiVoice DSR.
October: The voice recognition technology used in Voice Input Mail named “Software Product of the Year® 2008” by the Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan.
2009
May: Installed committee meeting minutes suport system for all standing committees of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly.
July: Commenced sales of Voice Recognition Mail for the iPhone.
August: AMI and Nichii Gakkan Company enter into a capital and business alliance.
November: Released AmiVoice CommunicationSuite, a voice management solution for call centers.
Commenced sales of AmiVoice CALL Lite –pronunciation-, an English pronunciation correction application for the general consumer.
2010
June: Released ENIFvoice SP, a voice recognition based support system for preparing histories of patient’s pharmaceutical usage. The product was developed jointly with Toho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
July: Commenced sales of AmiVoice SP, a voice recognition application for the general consumer.
September: Provided AmiVoice for “Narikiri Travel English Conversation,” part of Nichii Gakkan‘s Web College e-learning series.
October: Launched CyberClerk Institute Co., Ltd., a joint operation with Nichii Gakkan Company.
December: Commenced sales of an English pronunciation correction application, AmiVoice CALL -pronunciation-, for junior-high and high school use.
2011
